Celebrate MBRW and Try One—Or All— of These 11 Fantastic Memphis Restaurants
Black Restaurant Week (MBRW) is an opportunity for Black-Owned restaurants to offer dining deals to bring in new customers and raise awareness. It allows the country to support minority-owned eateries. This year, the homage to Black-owned restaurants celebrates its 4th year, and you can enjoy it from Sunday, March 8th through Saturday the 14th.
Memphis Black Restaurant Week was founded by Cynthia Daniels & Co. in 2016 after seeing a need to bolster support for black and minority-owned businesses in the Bluff City. MBRW offers exposure and the opportunity to support 11 black-owned restaurants, enjoying their unique atmosphere and most bragged about menus. MBRW is a unique exposure and engaging opportunity to empower eleven black-owned restaurants, while also introducing a new dining experience for Memphis natives and tourists.
Daniels wants to draw special attention to the lesser-known eateries, which stands out because it’s the first commercial development the area’s seen in several years. She believes supporting Black restaurants play a crucial role in achieving socio-economic upliftment, and the sustainable implementation of these beliefs will strengthen our communities and open opportunities for future generations.
